This reminds me of my time surfing in Bali.
Thought it would be a nice to take a walk further up the main beach - only to stumble across a big culvert pumping thousands of gallons of raw sewage directly into the sea.
This wasn’t far from the surf spot…

None that you should.
But here in the UK, every one of our privatised water companies are leaking effluent into every waterway and coastline at a staggering rate.
It’s fecking horrible.
That’s very generous, I’d say “deliberately dumping” but it would sound like I’m making a poop pun.
Yeah, I’ve made it sound accidental, whereas we all know it’s completely deliberate.

For context, the Gold Coast is pretty much Australia’s Florida but with a nice (if smelly) beach.
