Hit while stopped at a light? Your fault for either not planning an escape route while waiting at the light or not seeing him coming so you could escape

This is insane. If you’re sitting at a light, unless you’re at the front of the line, where exactly would you escape to if you see somebody coming up behind you about to hit you? And even if you’re at the front of the line, odds are pretty good that it wouldn’t be safe for you to just pull into the intersection to avoid being hit from behind - you’ll just end up t-boning somebody.

Nah, that’s still a cutoff, though hardly the most dangerous I’ve seen. Contrary to the increasingly popular opinion otherwise, turn signals are solely for alerting nearby drivers of your intentions. Signaling (at least in Canada) doesn’t give you any kind of right-of-way. It’s still entirely on you to make the move safely, which includes considering how others are driving.
