Baseball fan's expression changes from excitement to shame when he realizes he scooped up a ball in play

I think in cricket terms what he did was like leaning over the boundary and picking up a ball that had stopped rolling before scoring a four, just before the fielder could get there.
It’s a long time since I played rounders though so I might be misinterpreting :wink:

Cricket is different from Rounders, yes? Or in this case are the rules the same?

No, rounders is the kids game that Yanks call Baseball :wink:

I understand. I used to coach a women’s softball team, long ago. One of our better players was a Brit, who taught me a little about Rounders. Apparently, you only get one pitch in Rounders (?) I finally got her to stop swinging at the first pitch, no matter where it was.

I’ve watched some cricket recently on TV (Australian league). It didn’t make me like it any better, but it was interesting to watch, and finally understand better what was going on.
