1.8026×1012 furlongs per fortnight, not just a good idea, it’s the law.
Stephano
How didst thou 'scape? How camest thou hither?
swear by this bottle how thou camest hither. I
escaped upon a butt of sack which the sailors
heaved o’erboard
I’d walk a furlong for a firkin? (showing my age)
Sack, for those who don’t know, is fortified wine. Think Sherry.
I am glad to see that the ESA has standardized the animal-based size comparisons for asteroids.
For half-giraffe measurements this handy graphic is provided to settle confusion:
Amazing
2 ducks is 2 meters? A duck is one meter? WTF?
Them are the biggest damn ducks I ever heard of!
Wingspan?
Minimum safe distance?
I thought ducks were only a measure of weight (or mass, to be precise), not of volume or size?
But then, a mass is a measure of volume in Bavaria.
Damn, witch is which? Can we meter that out?
ETA: if distance, it would be flight distance, wouldn’t it? Like, how far can you throw it?
Elephants: An adult African elephant can reach 7 metres at the shoulder
… maybe in Peter Jackson movies
And that’s why the metric system should only be used by trained professionals.
“what’s a duckway?”
“about a kilo.”
“what’s that?”
“half a hare.”
“oh, we’re splitting hares now?”
mass, it is.
i like your measure of duck-as-distance in how far the average person could heave le canard in a shot put manner.
begs the question, frozen or live duck?
That would make a big difference. One can fly
I like how the “house” icon was split into 1-1/2 houses with a vertical line! Because if you’re measuring the height of a thing, it’s only natural to compare it to the width of a different arbitrary thing.
Or maybe it’s a German Standard House that is precisely 7.2m wide, and everybody but me knows that.
