Gary Abernathy is a blight on the WaPo’s editorial page. Every few weeks he posts some more folksy claptrap about how we all just need to be nicer to the white-supremacist assholes who elected white-supremacist asshole Trump and the white-supremacist assholes in his administration. He professes to be all in favor of a kind of mindless, contentless civility–one that turns a blind eye to the fact that blistering rudeness is the stock in trade of the people toward whom he’s claiming we all just need to be nicer.
On a positive note, Fox News is suddenly going to discover that there is a coronavirus epidemic in this country.

Not surprising that they’ve found an equally useless replacement. The post’s paywall is particularly annoying to breach, so I’ll take your word for it.
Most times, a presidential concession is a nice gesture, but not absolutely necessary. It’s not worth substantive concessions from the president-elect. COVID-19 changes the calculus somewhat.
“I’ll concede if you promise to pardon me and my associates” sounds like a terrible deal that Biden might be tempted to make.
The only one of those that NY doesn’t also have is Philadelphia. Though there is a town of Philadelphia in Jefferson county.
I don’t wear high heels because I find facial bruising unattractive.

Based on when I lived there, the answer is: be an old white conservative man. And funnel plenty of money into really misleading ad campaigns. That’s all I saw.
That’s my theory as to why Melania spurns Donald’s hand when they’re walking together—she’s almost always wearing very-high heels, and, while she’s very practiced and accomplished at walking in them, she sure doesn’t need him pulling her off balance.
