I want more of this. The Democratic party needs to own the hard work they did and stop letting the GOP party of vote against everything take credit on the back end. Cornerstone of the 2024 campaign right there, while the GOP can only wish they had this kind of public policy (so much so they try and claim it).

Pueblo is a heavily Latino city in an otherwise extremely red district. When they recently created the new Colorado 8th district there was a big push to have it comprised mostly from Pueblo as it is the largest population center of the area but of course Republicans objected since it would have all but ensured another Democrat Congressperson. So they forced the redistricting to carve it from the 2nd and Bobo’s 3rd - even though hers wraps all the way around from the far western slope to the southern front range. Gerrymandering at its finest.
