That was nice, thanks.

Was not expecting such a ‘jazz standards’ sound. She has great phrasing. Both seem like really solid musicians. Love them making the backdrop too.

I’ve not listened to any of Eilish’s music, but she seems relatively forthright and grounded compared to other stars her age.

Yeah she’s keenly aware of the place she has come to occupy in the public eye and the challenge of protecting her identity as she grows into adulthood - as well as the fact that all kinds of people could be taking advantage were she not so grounded with her brother there at every step. This is finding its way into her music in wonderful ways.

She took on the autograph collectors. When she realized some fans were lining up to see her and others, who were not fans, were just going to ebay whatever they got from her, she sorted them by offering hugs instead. The people who pocketed their pens to hug her were fans. The ones who still thrust the paper in front of her, she walked away from. Then they actually booed her. She was initially blasted for “ignoring fans who had waited a long time to see her” - probably a story generated by these opportunists themselves. She put the record straight, explaining all of of this, and in finalizing her thoughts about these old guys booing: “Dude. I’m seventeen.”
