I have a diabetic friend with an implanted insulin pump and he calls himself a cyborg for it. Arguably that’s closer than hipster nfc chips or even practical (yet non-electronic) artificial joints and bones.

Robot pancreases are cool.
I’ve always felt that there could be something interesting done with implanted tech and subdermal anchors as connection ports. Don’t know what, but the ability to attach add-ons or external power to an implanted device has to be useful somehow.
Something like this maybe?
