At least it was more “Sorry, we really fucked up,” rather than a “Sorry if you were offended” nopology. I have loved VW since I was a kid. My first car was a '76 Superbeetle. The last several years have not been kind to my feelings of affection, and while I still love the old Beetles, the company itself has a hell of a lot of work ahead of it if it is ever going to get back in my good graces. (Not that it cares, of course.) This does not help.
