Last night as I was going to bed with a feeling of dread and deja vu, that it wasn’t going as well as expected but that somehow people asumed there was some reason it was going to get better… I was pretty grim and then I thought of the end of Matt Ruff’s Lovecraft Country where some evil white shit is threatening a room full of black people with an America hostile to them outside of any place they managed to sort out for themselves and the room laughed. “That is America” and I had hope.
