Most people will do whatever they have to to survive. These folks were victims of the nazis as well, as hard as it may be to bear.

Edited to add: It seems like what we’re talking about here are people who are racists, BUT DON"T SEE THEMSELVES as racists. I suspect that they outnumber the avowed racists even in the GOP. Calling them racists tends to be counter productive: They get all defensive and you get into arguments about the definition of “racist.” Pointing out that they’re standing right next to Nazi’s and avowed racists so they might want to think about what they’re saying and doing is sometimes a little more helpful.

Yeah, even though the other primary candidates split the vote pretty hard (which is basically how this happened) this loser still got over 10,000 votes his own self.
I would say New Jersey owns this, personally, but you’re still right. It seems like the GOP, regardless of what they’d rather do for strategic purposes, can’t find any non-racists willing to run for their party in many districts now. People are leaving the party in droves, and it’s having a vicious cycle effect as the racists are emboldened.
