Blame the War on Drugs for stoned, face-eating murderers

My “girlfriend” got plenty of free drugs.

I am solidly against the “war on drugs”. I think it is utter horseshit, used by anal reactionary Neanderthal politicians as a way of maintaining power, and has nothing to do with right and wrong. It is responsible for thousands of wrongful deaths and is consistently used by the right wingers to erode civil liberties. I think the DEA should be disbanded and its head should be tried for war crimes.

Nevertheless, I recognize and value both honest and accuracy, and so I recognize that the title of this article is a bullshit lie. The war on drugs is NOT to blame for these freaks. The war on drugs did not force anyone to do anything. The war on drugs did not put a gun to this Florida asshole’s head and say “take flakka or I’ll kill you.” He and the other stupid freaks who take these ridiculous drugs are morons who made stupid decisions and they alone are responsible.

I say let them kill themselves. They hear about these drugs, they hear how they drive people insane and make them do insane, homicidal, suicidal things, and they choose to take the drugs anyway. I say to hell with them. Anyone that stupid, this country would be better off without them. Lock them up so they can’t reach other people, then give them all the drugs they want until they die. They have chosen to make themsvles useless trash; we should treat them as such.

The point is that if it weren’t for the WOD making access to legitimate cannabis and cocaine difficult, there would be no market for these far more dangerous substitutes. Hobos who have access to Colt 45 don’t go drinking Listerine or Sterno.

Furthermore, addiction is a lot more complicated than an individual making a conscious rational decision to do something. You would never call a suicidally depressed person a “stupid freak.” Be nice.

Sooooo…the country would be better without adolescents? Not sure where you’re going with this.

So, my previous post wan’t directed at you, but you seem to think that the answer to my question is yes, a teenager who makes one stupid choice (“teenager” and “good judgement” being two concepts that are not usually found in the same person at the same time) should suffer for it until the addiction caused by that choice kills them. As a society, it’s acceptable to let them suffer because, hey, it’s their own fault, right?

Not altogether without of course, but maybe if we sequestered them in some sort of educational communal Bacta tanks…

Thanks for speaking on behalf of everyone here; it’s awesome when folks overgeneralize each other like that, and so accurate too!

Is it too much to ask that a person accept responsibility for what one puts in their own body?

I was trying to think of how to tell him exactly how appalled and disgusted I was at his statement, but you said it perfectly.

And that’s why this elsewhere.

At least I could state my reasons for my position.

You just chose to kill everyone I knew as a teenager.

In the process, you’ve removed from the world the contributions of several scientists, doctors, teachers, artists, authors and social workers.

Congratulations.

I blame the dairy industry. Did you see in the video how they have convinced people that the antidote to drugs is milk?
