The “blue lives” that matter are those like Derek Chauvin, that ensure that “those people” are being put in their place by violence and fear of violence. They like the authoritarian aspect of the “blue lives” not the actual individuals who care about upholding the law.

This video represents the disconnect Trumpers have. On one hand they are attacking a cop, on the other hand some of them know that “hey, aren’t we the ones who have those thin blue line stickers on our cars?”

Nope. This is what you voted for. “Law and order” means a peaceful transition of power after the process of democracy has spoken. Trump lost, and saying over and over that it was unfair or rigged or stolen doesn’t make it so. The Trump campaign has lost more than 80 lawsuits related to the election, “law and order” includes the courts too.

I’ve said this here once before: Cop pay should be by the minute and only for the minutes that they turn in timestamped bodycam footage of. Bodycam not on? You’re technically not on duty and not getting paid. (Which also means that anything that they do while bodycam not on is done by a normal citizen, not an officer of the law. That may even things up a bit when third parties film them getting up to no good.)
