Yes. The whole point of calling a woman a bitch is to dehumanize her.
“That’s ok, Kavanough is someone’s bitch” FTFY
Ok, I NEED that as a t-shirt.
“It’s like arson, murder and incest” Fixed THAT for you.
TLDR - Yes.
I would think that the thing equivalent to calling a man an asshole is calling a woman an asshole. Why does there need to be a different insult?
I was recently put on the spot, when a woman* made me extremely angry, while I was with my 3 year old son. As one part of my brain queued up an impressive array of compound insults, another desperately censored them. In the moment, the only phrase that survived the cull was ‘stupid cow’. My son now delights in the phrase, although we have agreed it is reserved for that one woman, who we are unlikely to ever meet again, and he shouldn’t use it for anyone else. He likes ‘little stinker’ for general use.
* I note that it was a woman as a nod to the conversation above about ‘bitch’ and related insults. Cow would be another female insult, albeit a rather gentle one on the grand scale. I don’t think I would call a man a cow, even when pressured for a quick not-too-offensive insult.
Bonus points for spelling “judgment” correctly.
hot take: maybe they’re both terrible in their own ways
Well, don’t you know, men and women are different, you see, so we should call them different things… /s
If Kavanaugh isn’t capable of thinking of women as humans, he has no business on SCOTUS. This is further evidence that he is a misogynist.
How fucking hard is this to grasp?
We can agree to disagree on this. This is something that happened 10 years ago. I am not into judging people for not evolving at the same speed someone else has. Calling someone a bitch or prick does not by itself mean the person is committing misogyny or misandry. Name calling is name calling, and I don’t need this element to already dislike the man and think he is a horrible SC nominee.
@anon61221983 all the other things about him tell me he doesn’t respect women. This is barely a spec of icing on the entire cake.
Criticism assault, as opposed to the actual sexual assault that he’s accused of.
Well, OK, I won’t tell you that… but…

It’s easier to be polite than to insult. Why waste effort on such a person?
-
The people who really deserve insulting the most have often developed immunity to insult or even come to enjoy it, but polite unflappability makes those people completely lose their shit to the point where it’s just hilarious to watch.

when you are up for your Supreme Court nomination decades from now, and people pull up all the conversations you had today, it’ll look a lot better.
When I hear the term, I tend to think of Pinkman.
Shit-for-brains is genderless and underused IMO.
Be “old-fashioned” and stop trying. So much less effort involved.
Yeah, self improvement is for chumps and elites.
And when men like that call these effective women a bitch, we answer “Awww…you say that like it’s BAD thing.” They don’t actually know what to do with that.
