How come she was left out of the Beale and Fowler Family Photo?

The part about Little Edie’s attempts to emulate 70s fashion was insightful, but the idea that she was fashion-forward behind her times is a bit of a stretch. If the Maysles brothers hadn’t discovered her or if she hadn’t been related to Jackie O she would have eventually ended up wearing cat food tins on her head and calling them fascinators.

I was trying to figure out where I’d seen Edie’s …ummm…enthusiastic dance before, and then I realized it was Anthony Michael Hall’s character from Sixteen Candles.
