British billionaire's "I Am Not A Pornographer" letter raising questions already answered by the letter

“Tory Porn Lord” is good, but he gave to UKIP more recently so it’s not clearly accurate. Also, he isn’t a lord.

I can’t quite think why that might be.

Would “pornographer-cum-philanthropist” be a satisfying compromise?

He apparently doesn’t know how Wikipedia works.

The notion of someone who is very concerned about the technical difference between the terms “pornographer” and “Publisher of a large quantity of adult magazines” brings to mind another group of people- those people who occasionally pop up on the internet to let you know that there is an important semantic and technical difference between the words “paedophile” and “ephebophile”.

Pornographer is easier. The other one requires dedicating one’s entire career to publishing and distributing filth.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just own it dude.

“In the U.S., calling him a pornographer would, I suppose, be a protected opinion rather than a statement of fact.”

So host just his page on a server in the states. Problem solved.

Weird to me.

If I was a billionaire pornographer like this guy, you could call me whatever you wanted, and I probably couldn’t give two fucks.

Merriam Webster is an American dictionary so that’s sort of neither here nor there

However English dictionaries state the same thing so I don’t know what this loon is on about!

No that wouldn’t solve any problems because that’s not how it works. Besides Wikipedia isn’t hosted in the UK.

Theres not really any difference between the two parties, so i’d still call it accurate.

Oh, give the guy a break. In these challenging times, the poor chap’s probably just trying to describe himself as an apornographic carrier, which is not a profession but a condition.

It still baffles me that someone thought “The Health Lottery” was a good name for something other than a young adult sci-fi novel

Well then, where did those little troves of porn come from, found under hedgerows and in copses?

How about Bigoted Porn Lord? It doesn’t change the meaning of “Tory Porn Lord”, but does allow for a minor political re-alignment.

Or between “Slave Owning” and “States Rights”?

That sounds like a title from the College of Arms.

I hope as a billionaire you’d send your bills to be regularly disinfected, as they’re pretty nasty…
