In an interview once Ty Murray once talked about riding a moose that he chased down with a snowmobile and then jumped on. He got fined as well, but said it was money well spent.
FYI - Ty Murray was a bull rider and all around rodeo guy, he was considered to rodeo in the 90s what Michael Jordan was to basketball.
I don’t think there’s any denying that it was needlessly abusive to an already terrified animal, that it was stupid, and that whatever “bravery” the guy had was probably influenced by alcohol, but part of me tips my hat to anyone trying to ride a wild animal, especially when it’s in a lake that is probably almost as cold as a glacier.
