Buddhist temple empty after monks test positive for meth

I can’t say what the split was in the early days of the religion 2500 years ago, but when you read the rules for monks in detail, there are some … oddly specific things about what, exactly, constitutes misbehaviour. Things like “sexual misconduct includes intercourse with livestock, plants, skulls, …”. Really? Yep. Realizing that an entry was more likely based on experience than imagination, yeah, it’s fair to say that some monks have always had an easier time than others doing what was expected.

They were protecting the faithful by removing the meth from circulation.

Every pill that they’d eat, was one less on the street.

Buddha bing, Buddha boom.

I guess that when all you have as an outlet for sexual desire are the things around you, and the things around you are livestock, plants and skulls … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just a touch gothic, though. Matthew Lewis would probably have approved.
