I was gonna say “San Berdoo”? Are we older adults from the 1970s who stay up and watch Johnny Carson?
corrected for you
Dammit, you can’t autodarwinate after you have kids. Also, those poor kids.
Hope it was worth it, guys.
I can’t help feeling the kids are better off in the long run, no matter how traumatized they are currently. A father with a fuse that short and an immediate willingness to turn to violence…
Rule number, um, ?two? for parenting has got to be ‘don’t start a gunfight with your kids next to you’. What a fucking moron.
Confused as to which was the good guy with a gun. As well as how this heavily armed society was polite.
Reminds me of this incident that occurred a while back in the same general area:
Obviously the armed society is a polite society in the very specifically Keynesian long term; not necessarily in any specific moment.
Is “San Berdoo” kinda like using “Frisco”?
to be fair, it started with lane splitting, which should be illegal.
FTFY.
That’s a valid argument, however lane splitting is legal in California so the pickup guy was in the wrong, which undoubtedly helped fuel his rage. There is no anger like unjustified anger.
The only thing which surprises me about this incident is that it doesn’t happen a lot more often, considering how tooled-up Americans are. Millions of people walking or driving around carrying, having collisions, standing their ground, and yet this kind of stand-off/double kill is fairly rare.
I find that a cause for hope and faith in basic humanity.
Which is not only legal but encouraged in many other parts of the world. Almost like there is another factor which led to the deaths of both these men.
Both men died after they were shot
Nice use of passive voice by the cops.
The innocent youngsters were unharmed, thank goodness.
Somehow, I doubt that is true.
Grammatically it’s active voice, but the exonerative mood.
Thank you. I don’t know much about language, but I find it interesting.
Where did the pickup guy come from? This story is about a hit and run collision between a motorcycle guy and a sedan (which is not a pickup) guy. It also doesn’t give enough information to assign blame for the collision.
The only thing that can really be concluded from the information in the story is that both guys escalated the situation toward violence rather than seeking a less violent resolution. In that, they were both wrong.
