If the end result was the get Resident Evil 2 remade then this is a success. And who better to make the remake than Capcom. Let’s be honest the RE2 Remake trailer was technically sound but lacking in so many other areas.
At least it’s because they’re going to do it themselves- I still remember the sad days when several fanmade Chrono Trigger remakes were shut down by Squaresoft, who has done absolutely nothing with the franchise except release a Nintendo DS version since then (and even that was years and years after fans were clamoring for it).
And they were polite about it, too. This is about the best we can hope for from big corps.
