Captain America urging us to be safe, using the best technology we have today, that’s a positive message.
Add one single inconsequential fucking word, and it shifts the meaning 180 degrees. Instead of urging us to do what’s right, he’s scolding us for not having done it already. Maybe he’s even scolding us for having kids in the first place. It’s the new “UnAmerican Activity” used to be Communism, now it’s not trusting the Vaxxers.
We should be immunizing our children first and foremost to keep them safe. Trying to shame us into doing the right thing is ultimately counterproductive. As writers and readers, it fucking behooves us to pay attention to our fucking language.
