Have you spent any time working in corporate America for large companies?
Having both lived in a van down by the river and been part of the corporate nightmare, Iâd be tempted to choose the vanâŚ
Last time around, thatâs what I thought about Jon Huntsman (competent, at least), but he didnât last very long.
Itâs a sad state of affairs when mere competence is such a high bar that no one reaches it.
It makes one nostalgic for alternative candidates.
Itâs called the Meritocracy, people! Now sheâs poised to do to America what she did to HP.
55 gallon drum of lube⌠now more than ever.
BLECH! I worked for this asshat at both EDS and Perot Systems - now owned by HP and Dell, respectively. He makes Fiorina look like a pussycat.
Such a brilliant tech mind. So brilliant she forgot to register all the domain names she might need.
Even though I wouldnât vote for her, and I doubt sheâd make it to the general election anyway, Iâm glad to see it become normal for women to run for president.
This is one of the most insidious and successful ideas the new Republicans have foisted on the voting populace: that a country needs to be run AS IF IT WERE a business.
The fact that she canât run any businesses (other than into the ground) doesnât help, of course.
Everyone at HP hated her. Sometimes, itâs just you.
I also blame her for pretty much creating the âCEO as celebrityâ thing.
Overpaid assholes who donât know anything about the company they are running. And they donât even create shareholder value. They create a brand, sell snake oil, then get huge pay days to leave the place in semi-ruinsâŚ
Or complete ruins.
As if that were a bad thing. Actually, that would be great!
I bought a 15C for $125 in 1985. Sold it circa 2002 for the same amount. Grad school, desperate for cash. I bought a 12C at a yard sale for like $1 but later discovered that they donât fetch that much.
You know whatâs odd? Every four years they look for a new face to basically put a new shade of lipstick on the same pig. Theyâre basically looking for someone with Obamaâs oratory skills and cool, but then they start talking and itâs all downhill. Rubio, Jindal, you name it. The next great hope. They keep talking about bold ideas, a new direction, blah blah, but thereâs absolutely nothing new. I hope they keep failing.
you missed âa lot ofâ.
at the least, there are way more Ds than Rs, and even a lot of the libertarian techies would rather vote D than R if those were the choices.
For the fact that most West Coast tech workers are Democrats? Or that they want to win? Because the fact that they are Democrats (or Liberals) is true by a wide margin.
It makes about as much sense as saying that someone whoâs won a lot of money playing poker should be running the casino.
Did the Bobs say Florida?
