The “$ETHNIC_GROUP is being oppressed in $NEIGHBORING_COUNTRY” schtick never gets old among would-be despots, it seems. That was also one of Slobodan Milosević’s favorite tactics.

I agree with all these.
I liked it but - and here’s a sad problem - it’s too long and written too fluently for its audience.
The reactionary people she’s speaking to, in my experience, seem to get lost in non-basic wording and therefore don’t absorb the context or just check out - especially if it’s more than a few sentences.
I know I’m generalizing but let’s face it - they respond best to bumperstickers and catchphrases. Her audience will just think this is another “elite” putting them down and not take in any of the facts.
