I would like to take this opportunity to remind people that there is already a Super Mario movie. A terrifically anarchic hot mess of a movie!

I recommend watching it in a double bill with the Tank Girl movie!

To be authentic they should only cast Japanese actors.
There’s been a lot of re-evaluation going on in the commentariat recently casting this as a cyberpunk masterpiece. I’ve never seen it, though

This was such a great movie. Probably the first time that I watched something and thought, “That was terrible. And I LOVED IT.”
