My grandparents used to take me to Clifton’s Cafeteria in West Covina back in the early 70’s. I used to get a “johnnycake” (which I remember was just a small piece of cornbread), a bowl of jello, and a chocolate milk. Wow, forgot all about that chain.

Unfortunately it isn’t the amazing Clifton’s Pacific Seas location on South Olive Street that had an indoor waterfall (mentioned in “On the Road” and present in exterior in the video game “LA Noir”).
