Colbert reads porn star Stormy Daniels sex affair with Trump

What I love about this story: Breitbart won’t cover it.

It’s gotta be very damaging in some way.

Those are the only kind of magazines that can help him maintain an erection.

Seeing what you did, there.

Tribalism reigns supreme, apparently. Trump is as close to the Antichrist as you could possibly humanly get - lazy, gluttonous, greedy, envious, wrathful, lustful and cheerfully proud of it all. He’s the apostle of “screw your neighbor and screw his wife as well, while you’re at it.” Does that matter to the Red Tribe? Nope.

(I’m not gloating here. This is here and now. The blue tribe shall have it’s own moments of infamy, along similar lines, sooner or later.)

I mean, you probably do have to be something special to impress a porn star…

Conversely you probably have to be a pretty big perv to make much of an impression on a porn star.

Trump: Now pretend you’re my daughter while I masturbate to this magazine cover of myself.
Daniels: Yeah, yeah. I know the drill.

I imagine him in a purple velour tracksuit wearing a gold medallion giving his best “come hither” look.

… and I’ll never have an erection again thanks to that vision.

Yeah, white evangelical culture at this point is acknowledged to be defined by its reactionary culture, not religion. (The religion is simply used as a justification for the reactionary culture.) The irony is that the people most into the whole “Antichrist” story (and who are constantly looking for it, in liberal Christians, their political opponents) are the ones who would be first in line to follow someone who fits the Biblical description of the Antichrist. It really is all about projection with the American Right these days…

It’s not like having to fuck Trump is some kind of privilege.

Circular logic is circular.

I was thinking more like this:

At the same time, as strange as it is that someone would confess to having thangs with Trump, why would anyone lie about having sex with him, if they indeed hadn’t? It’s like announcing to the public that one just shat their own trousers: it’s weird to tell everyone that you’ve done so, even weirder if you didn’t actually do it. But even during that time frame, he was well-known as an asshole, so maybe she was merely trying to screw things up for him.

I dunno. People on the whole can be kind of enthralled by fame. Even if the person is kinda gross. Her statements kind of scan from that perspective.

Because he is a millionaire and the president of the most powerful country in the world? Women having sex with the rich and powerful is not a new thing, you know.

I find it interesting that, even on a platform like boingboing where many members live in non-monogamous relationships, everybody automatically assumes that Trump cheated.

In truth, we don’t know what his wife things about extra-marital affairs. Maybe she agrees and sent him to meet other women.

At this point, some people will add some snark comments that it may be a relief to her to not have to perform her “marital duties”… but that is not the point. The point is that monogamy is so ingrained in our culture that it is automatically assumed.

Good point.

Add to this that he sees women as trophies. Part of this is simply the whole “and I had sex with a porn star at my age!” old-school Leisure Suit Larry machismo that he subscribes to.

If Trump wants to correct the record by publicly stating that he and his wife have an arrangement that allows him to have unprotected sex with porn stars then he is more than free to do so.

Of course, that would still make him a colossal hypocrite considering that

  • He’s constantly touting his so-called “Christian values” to his evangelical base (even claiming the IRS was persecuting him for being such a “strong Christian”)
  • He has demonized political enemies for far less scandalous sexual behavior, calling them “perverts” and worse
  • He not only characterized Bill Clinton’s infidelities as a moral failing on Hillary’s part, but he publicly accused Hillary of cheating on Bill (while presenting zero evidence to back up the accusation)

I suspect skin-tight spandex could have successfully served the same purpose.

Yeah, that too. Although he can’t speak to - or about - a woman without making that abundantly clear.

In that case, I stand corrected. I had not realized he made it clear that his relationship was monogamous. I don’t live in the US and I don’t follow all what Trump says.

My comment is still valid in my country where some politicians who were obviously not in a monogamous relationship (e.g. going to swinger clubs as a couple for example) were still automatically accused to “cheat” when caught in an extra marital situation. Monogamy is simply assumed.
