“I made an inappropriate comment meant as a joke," he said. "I’m sorry it was not received that way.”

Great heartfelt non-pology

“I’m sorry you libtards are too stupid to understand my erudite sense of humor.”

Issuing his prayer to Moloch less than a week after the seventh anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting. “Just joking!”

It WAS received as an inappropriate joke. That’s why your ass just got fired.

Just because we don’t appreciate or approve of your sick, disgusting, insensitive and absolutely inappropriate joke doesn’t mean we don’t understand it was meant as a joke.

Reminds me of a verse from a Chris Orrick track

And don’t forget about the funny guns
We give to funny men who think it’s funny watching children run
And other funny men go on their funny little shows
And think it’s funny that the way to fix it won’t ever be known

Clearly he needs one of these:

And, c’mon. Making a mass shooting joke in Colorado of all places is a really bad idea. You’d have to be a master comedian to pull that one off, and clearly this guy isn’t it.

Are there any U.S. states left that haven’t had any mass shootings lately?

Losing your job to own the libs! Way to go, radio-guy!

Well, I don’t doubt the personal truth behind “I’m sorry it wasn’t received that way.” I’m certain he’s damned sorry, but only because of how it has impacted him. Not for what he said, or how funny he thinks he is for saying it.

Job hunting this time of year sucks, even for horrible people.

“Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal!”

There are so many famous mass shootings in America that probably nearly every day is within a week of the anniversary of one of them. Are you saying that people shouldn’t ever suggest it would be nice if a bunch of children with massacred? /s

Conservatives are really not as funny as they think they are.

I don’t know. I think people are getting a bit over-reactive about this. Yes it was a VERY tasteless joke, but it was clearly a joke, and I think perhaps a reprimand would have been more appropriate than being fired.

As much as I agree with the spirit behind the anger here, I really feel our culture has moved too far into instant vindication for people doing things that are deemed socially unacceptable.

When comedy is a crime, culture is dead.

Yeesh - he gets fired for making an offensive joke, but Trump will undoubtedly be getting off scot-free.

No. Unfortunately, no. It is rapidly getting to “Are there any communities in the US that have not had a mass shooting lately.”
