First there was the Star Trek Prime timeline.
Then we had the alternative Kelvin Timeline.
I guess we find ourselves not in the above Utopian Luxury Communism timelines, but in this post truth militaristic one instead.
They aint exploring, they’re starting an arms race.

What good is popular culture if it can’t speak to our modern times. TOS did a great job of that, as did TNG and DS9. No reason why the current series can’t reflect our current struggles and realities.
