Maybe. Part of the motivation behind a black hat hacker’s change of headgear is the awareness that some serious punishment is being averted by doing so. In Vlad’s case this does not apply.
Bank manager: [to Dillinger and Barrow] John, you will be our entry security. Clyde, you’ll be protecting the vault.
Dillinger: I think you’ve got that turned around.
Barrow: [to bank manager] I don’t mind it.
Dillinger: [to Barrow] Well, I do.
[Dillinger and Barrow exchange cold stares. Barrow winks and gives a tiny smile. Dillinger eases his gaze. Barrow, still looking at Dillinger, begins slowly nodding. Dillinger then smiles and nods back.]
Dillinger: [to bank manager] Okay, that’ll work.
