Hot dogs, I haven’t tried.
On breakfast sausages, though:

I was listening to the Doughboys podcast the other day, and they were talking about Panda Express, specifically discussing the phenomenon of Orange Chicken/General Tso’s Chicken style of fried nuggets+a flavored syrup, and how that is a unique blend of flavors and textures to Americanized/Westernized Chinese food.
Someone had a throwaway line where they were trying to say how crazy it would be if translated into American cuisine, and said “What would be the equivalent, like fried chicken nuggets in a Maple Syrup sauce?” I found myself shouting variations of “Shut up and take my money!” at my phone (maybe Twitter would have been more effective vehicle for that…)
For a little while McDs here had a bacon maple poutine. Gravy + curds + fries + bacon + maple drizzle. It was a glorious abomination, and I miss it.
Merde! L’horreur! L’horreur! Le sang des vrais québecois se congèle.
Goes great with breakfast sausage, so maybe hotdogs too.
Hah!..great minds think alike!
Yeah, let’s just leave the rest of that saying unsaid.
