Could also go into Black Lives Matter thread. God, covid sucks, systemic racism sucks, I am so tired of this shit.

So, trump has the COVID. Ok. What are the long term effects even if he doesnā€™t get very sick? Surely this could play into the election equation.

Bill Gates lays out a three-point plan to rid the world of COVID-19 ā€“ and anti-vaxxer cranks arenā€™t gonna like it

Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates stuck an oar into tinfoil-hat-infested waters once again today with a pretty reasonable plan to deal with the ongoing global pandemic.

In an opinion piece for Tortoise Media, His Billness laid out a three-part plan for eliminating the grim threat of coronavirus and, unsurprisingly, it all hinges on those pesky vaccines.

Gates reckoned that likely more than one vaccine will be available by the early part of next year, but dealing with the pandemic would first require the capacity to make enough of the stuff, and then ensure a global reach for dosages.

Reaping

Weā€™ll know better next time.

A student petition is calling on Notre Dameā€™s president to resign.

Father John Jenkins attended the ceremony for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett on Saturday.

His decision to shake hands with people there and not wear a mask caused outrage for some Notre Dame students, who have been following strict campus coronavirus rules so closely.

For all the things itā€™s not, the stock market is a pretty reliable indicator of stockbrokersā€™ confidence in a fascist coup.

Turning to shit here. Lockdown here we come.

Numbers in the North were horrifying yesterday, nearly 1000 which was about their highest. Infection rate in Derry is very high. As it happens there were Derry representatives at the ā€œpublic healthā€ march on the quays. The fash that is.
8 of the 10 deaths are retrospective from before September. Would suggest they were home deaths.

I guess we can now merge this topic with the trumpian events topic?

Christ. Iā€™m sorry to hear this.

Iā€™m also suppressing my baser instincts to post a Derry Girls gif.

Thanks but Iā€™m annoyed. Lobby groups pushing reopening. Government delaying legislation on sick pay for all (unlike holidays sick pay is not statutory but rather customary here and you know what happens to custom with the right ascendantā€¦) and wannabes like the anti-maskers on the quays today are making me livid.

@anon61221983 Derry girls memes are always good. I mean anti maskers? The eyeroll.

Brave doesnā€™t support gif insertion or Iā€™d put the nun here.

Iā€™m really surprised to see the numbers out of Mayo and Sligo, low as they are. How are there still onesie-twosie diagnoses in such rural areas? If there was a community spreading event Iā€™d think the numbers would be higher?

And jesus christ Donegal, what are ye up to?

Travel out of the area? A lot of very isolated spots there. Only biggish industry I can think of in Mayo is pharma (that would be where Trumpā€™s Viagra is made. As pointed out elsewhere, if you marry for money you earn every penny!). Tourism non existent.
