Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 2)

I’m still missing a “pandemic misinformation” option when reporting shit on all the platforms.

ETA: and of course not in German, unless the legislature forces them to it. See Netzwerkduchsetzungsgesetz.

This guy is a [insult here]:

But he invites a point that “South African Variant” is not any better than “Wuhan Virus”. Is there a better nomenclature for these things?

Mother, daughter and granddaughter are vaccinated against Covid-19 on the same day in Fernandópolis, state of São Paulo, Brazil.

The three women are Francisca Candida de Paula, 107 years old; Amélia Candida de Jesus, 90 and Francisca Pinheiro, 66 years old,. They were immunized at home by a team of City health workers.

“It was a really special day for us. We were very happy. We´ve lived complicated months because of the pandemic. I just leave the house to go to the market and doing some errands, but I’m afraid to bring the disease home, ”said Mr. Francisca Pinheiro to the newspaper.

Germany has already first cases where vaccines were administered to people under circumstances which are at least worth discussing. Stendal, Koblenz, Wittenberg, Halle…

Some of those cases will not be worth discussing further, but at least THIS must be established, IMO.

This caught my eye: the working hypothesis is that the outbreak at a quarantine hotel was a combination of COVID “variants of concern” and a guest using a “nebuliser” for asthma treatment.

Just when you think you have the bases covered, eh?

A study by the Instituto do Coração, a department at the Hospital das Clínicas, administered by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, points out that 80% of patients recovered from Covid-19 had memory loss and difficulty concentrating.

The recovered people also had drowsiness, lack of balance and reasoning problems. Initial survey was carried out with 185 people and currently has more than 480 patients.

Patients still had their skills impaired, problems in performing various tasks, behavioral and emotional changes, as well as mental confusion. One even forgot how to ride his motorcycle. According to doctors who participated in the study, the consequences of the disease in the brain can be treated if the diagnosis is early.

I wouldn’t mind a bit more info either. A bit of quick googling gives me a story in Koblenz where a bunch of firefighters were vaccinated, allegedly as a way of not having to discard unused doses. They apparently are based in the local vaccination centre. That seems reasonable enough although it begs the question why the doses were otherwise unused.

And in Stendal there’s a story about policemen being vaccinated, allegedly as a ‘test’ for the mass vaccinations.

But I’m not sure if that’s what @LutherBlisset means.

More of this please and thank you.

Stendal apparently vaccinated 320 of their police force, Koblenz 127 of their fire brigade including their office staff. In Halle the Mayor himself jumped the line and from what I remember the whole city’s council got an offer - and since that happened, the Mayor insists on in-person council meetings.

Sorry, also to @L0ki - I’ll try to post some follow-up later. Much else to do. 40h/w + private life, all WFH… And today is Wieverfastelovend, which brings my Rhenanian genes to full expression.
