I’m talking about the sudden uptick in new cases and positivity.
i think texas and florida’s problems haven’t hit yet ( florida’s actually just now seems to be increasing in number of cases ) – for positivity ( from johns hopkins ) it looks like it’s kind of a mixed bag of states.
( side note: notice johns hopkins already includes dc as state.

The stress of literally being forced to take vacation time (“either pick a slot, or we’ll do it for you”) outweighed any benefits of the time off.
It’s one of those things that sound great, until it happens.
Locally, York Region is dropping the age bar from 75 down to 70 for vaccinations tomorrow. My slot looks like a toss-up between the bar dropping further on Pfizer/Moderna over the next few weeks, or increased supplies of AZ opening their 60+ pilot project Ontario-wide.
My preference? “Yes, please.”

Technically the guy was probably right, but actually berating someone for stepping off the path is being a jerk. The little outdoor gestures – donning a mask (or pulling up a chinmask) when approaching people, averting ones face, stepping to or off the side of the sidewalk – these probably have no effect on the spread of the disease when done walking outside in a breeze and away from crowds, but they are a show of solidarity that I think is important in these times.
So they’re saying the people who’ll be able to get the most donuts will be the earliest vaccinated, i.e those with more underlying health conditions like, say, obesity, high cholesterol, or heart problems?

I mean, it’s technically possible to go in, eat your free one then leave, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen someone with the willpower to stop at one.
I can only ever eat one anyway. They’re just too sugary to have more than that.
Vaccines on the dark web
Tabloid Ilta-Sanomat conducted an investigation into the sale of coronavirus vaccines on the dark web. As well as unnamed vaccines, a number of vaccines purporting to be made by Pfizer were spotted on the sites.
The price of a multi-dose bottle containing around ten doses of what was supposedly the Pfizer vaccine, was selling for 40 USD (36 euros). The vials containing an unnamed substance were selling for 210 USD and 700 USD (176 euros and 587 euros respectively).
The Sputnik vaccine was not found even on Russia’s largest dark web marketplace.
In addition, counterfeit vaccination certificates were also on sale. Ilta-Sanomat found a number of vaccination certificates, allegedly officially issued by Russian authorities. The price for these ranged from 40 to 56 euros.
For the fake certificates, buyers are asked to send in their personal information, after which the buyer is sent a fake vaccination certificate in their own name. The sellers are likely to be part of large criminal organisations, the tabloid reported.
According to Sami Paaskoski, Chief Pharmacist at Finland’s pharmaceutical regulator Fimea, they are aware of the phenomenon and Fimea is monitoring the situation.
