I’m serious énervé by Laschet, Stamp and Gebauer. As I mentioned way back, I have friends and family directly and indirectly affected. Working in hospitals. Family with a immune suppressed child. Parents who already had their kindergarten closed due to outbreaks, and don’t get the support to keep kids home as needed (same here, BTW).
Laschet can go to hell.
Also, I like Krispy Kreme, but I’m hoping some of the locally owned donut shops will do similar promotions!

Yeah, that sucks, but I suppose that even in times like this when we’re depending on pharmaceutical companies it’s always important to remember that you can’t always take their statements at face value and they need strong oversight. After all this is the same company that heavily marketed Nexium, which, as it turned out, was far less affordable, safe and effective than some of the alternatives.

BULLSHIT. We never had a strict lockdown, we will not have a strict lockdown over Easter, and what essentially was done yesterday was a fucking iteration of the same bazaar-like situation we already had in October.
I don’t need to tell you what happens next.
For one year, Germany stared at the US and couldn’t believe what was going on there. Basically, all of Germany was like “they fucked up so hard, I don’t even”.
Now, we are fucking things up hard ourselves. Let me get this straight, WE are doing this. Not only did we elect these leaders who bargain for of special interest groups in their regional economy, our consensus that we are in this together is literally failing. And, this is the worst part, we are unable to get our shit together and make our administration work not just by the letter of the law, but in it’s intent.
We are shooting ourselves, but not in the foot. In the chest and the head, and not only in our own, but that of our neighbours, too.
Amazingly enough, those all seem to be in the same handwriting. Remarkable!

All of the excitement is about how getting the cold can protect you from covid-19, but if you dig all the way down, the point is that colds can shape the pandemic by protecting someone from one exposure, but you will eventually get it once the cold goes away and you are re-exposed. But expect to see this touted by Fox News and anti-maskers as evidence that we should have all been congregating and giving each other colds instead of masking and staying home. Although on its face it just looks like standard bad science writing to try and wring maximum drama from the story, I think it is under the circumstances deeply irresponsible.

Use of the so-called covid kit may be also linked to bleeding and kidney failure.
Armed criminals broke into a public health clinic and stole two vials with 20 doses of covid-19 vaccines in stock. I just don’t quite understand what they wanted with this, as these vaccines have an expiration date and can hardly be used to give a second dose. Unless the plan is to steal the doses every month.
