Mr. Bolsonaro claims that people who had the two doses of the covid vaccines in the UK are getting AIDS: “Those who after the second dose, 15 days after the first dose… are developing the Immunodeficiency Syndrome much faster than expected”. He also read an excerpt of an article: “We have a study here from the UK that says that 70% of Covid deaths were of vaccinated ones. I will not comment (…). So 70% of covid deaths in the UK were of vaccinated people.”

Chalk it up as one more piece of evidence in his upcoming trial for crimes against humanity.

Do you know what’s funny/good? In spite of these anti-vaccination discourses, adherence to vaccination is very high in Brazil. Despite Mr. Bolsonaro spreading this type of information, his wife, his mother, his children and several ministers have already been vaccinated and many of them even posted pictures of thehappening on social networks.

That may be just a statistical oddity, or it may be something really interesting. I just don’t know what go make of it right now.

Huh. Never thought about this before:

Well, your propagandists have spread anti-vax sentiments in the west with many of them being translated back into russian and then they spread on social media. State ran media downplaying the virus alot in 2020. Oh, the whole covid doctors accidently falling out of windows thing too.

Also how a week of no work would affect a lot of people. Has Russia even distributed any aid for their workers during the pandemic as some countries have?

Why must the media persist in describing these people heroically? They are “defiant,” “insisting on their constitutional rights.” No, maybe they are mislead, or viewing the pandemic (and therefore the lives of others) as a partisan rather than health issue, or even just stupid. But heroic they are not. They are also a very small, if vocal, minority who, if not for the fact that they are largely white and conservative, would likely be ignored. How about we try that? That would be nice.

Similarly:

No where in the article does it mention that over 700 students attend that school. :woman_shrugging:t2:

Just imagine if a similarly sized minority, say Blacks, staged a walkout or some such. Imagine how that would work out. Oh, wait, we don’t have to imagine, do we? God, I hate this timeline…
