Some of the statements trigger me, quite strongly.
Nevertheless, I welcome every piece dealing with the situation of pandemic parenting. We need to be seen and heard. Sadly, according to my personal experience and perception, the most frequent statements are the ones who are, at least partially, irresponsible or just plain stupid. Examples are found above.
Welcome back (unless Iâm blind and youâve been back for weeks)!
Dang, this latest data on that treatment pill is completely different from the preliminary results they issued a month or so ago:
I honestly wouldnât expect an antiviral to prevent hospitalization. By the time most patients receive it for a quick virus like COVID they are probably going to be hospitalized. However, I would expect it to improve outcomes in terms of reducing the need to escalate care to vent/ECMO and to reduce fatality. So, not very encouraging.
I honestly donât know if they understand the reference, but in the Potterverse, âpure bloodsâ were fascistic asshats. Wait, maybe they do, exactly, precisely understand it.
South Africa doesnât send their best people.
Ironically, for the first year or so of Covid my jaw would click and had tension. My guess was stress or holding my jaw differently when wearing a mask all day. My dentistâs advice was to avoid gum and other chewy things.
52% of survivors of severe covid die within 12 months⌠Wow, thatâs eye opening. I havenât seen numbers like that elsewhere, but it really is still early days. Only 2 years (almost) since Sars-cov-2 was identified in China, and the world is a different place since then.
Thank you.
Iâm still caught up in a net of strings trying to pull me, but currently at least not swimming uphill. Been ill, as well.
I try to manage my time, and am basically just trying to catch up this specific topic every now and then.
On the bright side: just received my booster shot. I chose Spikevax to complement two doses of Comirnaty. Walk-in vaccination. Had to wait 2h in line, in the freezing cold, while having the remnants of a strange cold with a strong sinusitis⌠Well, I guess I wonât be fit tomorrowâŚ
ETA:
ETA 2: friend and neighbor has Delta. Sheâs really ill. Mother of a 3yr old. Fully vaccinated, of course. Bottom line: get your booster!
Man, I think Iâve had that nasty cold too, tons of mucus, nasty yellow phlegm, and one hell of a sinus headache the first few days, with a scratchy throat?
Looks like theyâre going to be leading that charge
âThe Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to extend the masks requirements through at least March 18, according to a White House fact sheet. The TSA last extended the mask mandate in August through January 2022.â
âUnder the rules, individuals who do not comply with the mandate will face a minimum fine of $500 with repeat offenders facing fines as high as $3,000.â
Well there 'ya go, itâs all over by March kids! /s
I read this and was sad. We have a plane trip planned in late March. Anyone know a reputable source for kid-sized N-95 level masks?
