Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 3)

Fraud-smells like wax when lit, definitely not a Yankee.

Are…they supposed to smell like Yankees? You know I am very much not on the side of the Confederates, but that still seems a little much.

The Yankees version of “pull my finger” (when he points at the outfield)?

Yankee Candle? What’d I miss?

I wrote it up in the operations manual.

So no clue for me then?

Those one star reviews of Yankee Candles products, being a brand of strongly scented candles, are not an indication that Yankee Candles forgot to put scent into the wax, but that all these people have Covid and have lost their senses of smell without realising it.

A wave of one-star reviews of Yankee Candles is an indirect way of measuring Covid infections.

Got it, I’m a little slow sometimes.

In a similar vein, Untappd (beer app) has shown a dropoff in beer ratings.

Well, I did get attacked by a fire hydrant on Saturday, and I’m boosted, so you know…

(It was dusk and I whacked my knee into the smaller valve that sticks out. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:)

Ouch. I’ve done that. The silver lining is that it looks super cool. :+1:

I know. I’m still waiting for an awesome bruise. Also, @anon15383236, it hurt like hell that night and then remarkably, almost nothing the next day. I feel lucky that hydra left me alone!

So after a year plus away from the office, I’m back for two weeks and today we get sent home again. Indefinitely. WTAF.

Soooo tired of this nonsense.

“ Within weeks, scientists at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research expect to announce that they have developed a vaccine that is effective against COVID-19 and all its variants, even Omicron, as well as from previous SARS-origin viruses that have killed millions of people worldwide.

The achievement is the result of almost two years of work on the virus. The Army lab received its first DNA sequencing of the COVID-19 virus in early 2020. Very early on, Walter Reed’s infectious diseases branch decided to focus on making a vaccine that would work against not just the existing strain but all of its potential variants as well.

Walter Reed’s Spike Ferritin Nanoparticle COVID-19 vaccine, or SpFN, completed animal trials earlier this year with positive results. Phase 1 of human trials, which tested the vaccine against Omicron and the other variants, wrapped up this month, again with positive results that are undergoing final review, Dr. Kayvon Modjarrad, director of Walter Reed’s infectious diseases branch, said in an exclusive interview with Defense One .”
