Meanwhile, in civilized countries, people mask up when they have a cold.

Civil rights pioneer Jesse Jackson Sr. and his wife have been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19.

I haven’t seen anything about his wife Jacqueline’s vaccination status (which of course is her private health information).

Wisconsin Senator Andre Jacque was described as, "‘A Republican state senator who has proven to be one of Wisconsin’s most virulent critics of mask and vaccine mandates became sick enough to be hospitalized last week after contracting COVID-19
’ At least his brother isn’t having it.

I do not fault the waitress because with our current system, that doesn’t care about the workers, forces people to go to work sick. This moron running for senate should have taken the opportunity to to talk about paid sick leave or just sick leave without losing your job but no, he has to make this tweet causing backlash to the bar.

i’ve known people who’ve taken antibiotics meant for fish because doctor’s visits and prescriptions are so expensive
thankfully most people have since discovered bitcoin and the “dark web” so they can buy human medicine from abroad now. :face_with_head_bandage:

healthcare. who needs it?

shouldn’t it be that, in civilized countries, when people have a cold: they get to stay home?

i’ve always assumed it was an unhealthy work/life balance in japan that forced ill people onto trains, and into work. ( america still being the worst of all worlds: no sick days, no healthcare, and also a terrible work-life balance even for people who are lucky enough to get paid well. oh yeah: and no public transport either. )

Lot of bullshit about this subject in the past few weeks, so nice to read this.

TL;DR: the covid vaccines do basically what you’d expect, including not magically making vaccinated people who catch covid more infectious than the unvaccinated.

ETA: I assume some of that BS comes from people not getting the difference between a vaccine and a treatment (which might hypothetically be able to produce antiviral-resistant viruses), but I’m certain a fair amount of what I saw was deliberate dis-information.
