Kelly laughing at Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker for taking some very basic precautions. Al Roker has serious health issues and they’re mocking him for being careful.
Guthrie didn’t flee the “Today” show set in abject terror. As co-host Sheinelle Jones explained, Guthrie wasn’t feeling well, so she took a COVID-19 test. When it came back positive, she went home. This is perfectly normal behavior that more people should model (or rather more employers should enable for their staff). Guthrie exposing her coworkers, not to mention the show’s guests, to COVID-19 is not great for business.
COVID-deniers like to make a big deal about how people who are fully vaccinated and boosted still get COVID-19. This has been our reality since the Delta variant. However, COVID-19 symptoms are far [less severe if you’re vaccinated and boosted. Yes, Guthrie has caught COVID-19 three times in a little over a year, but her job puts her at high risk of exposure. She was never hospitalized or put on a ventilator, which was a common fate for people with COVID-19 during the bad old days prior to the vaccine. However, Guthrie left during the middle of her broadcast last week because she’s aware that other people exist in the world. That’s always been a tough concept for Kelly to grasp.
On a side note, me and the wife worked another huge trade show the last two days. We were able to mind our own business away from everyone on the 5000 sqft display we were working on. The air quality was great so no masks except for in the bathrooms.
The bathrooms, wtf is up with those spring handles that you push down and they stay on for about 5 seconds and they are so close to the sink that you can’t wash your hands without touching the bottom of the sink or the spigot. Theses are relatively new bathrooms. You try to use basic hygiene but they certainly don’t make it easy. Oh, and not everyone even washes their hands after using the bathroom. Can’t imagine why the flu and stomach viruses are floating around.

Simone Gertz (who is well known by a lot of maker Mutants) recently did a video on Physics Girl’s channel, talking about Dianna’s (Physics Girl) struggle with long COVID. She’s taken a turn for the worse, and it’s pretty heartbreaking.
It just makes me want to [expletives] the bastards who deny COVID until they [expletives]. They are being so incredibly cruel and selfish.
