But they are okay with taking help from other states and affecting their healthcare systems.

In order to mitigate negative staffing impacts on Texas healthcare systems and EMS agencies, the state of Texas will only allow personnel deploying for this emergency response to be NON-RESIDENTS of Texas

I use seatbelt analogies in my vaccine discussions all the time. Most of the time, you will not need it, but when you do, it’s too late to put it on.

Oregon is dropping its indoor mask mandate by March 31. I’m pissed. It feels like a personal betrayal. The state health authority
presented all the reasons that it should stay in place, but the state caved to the anti-masker pressure.

They are punishing the people who have been doing everything right and rewarding the fucking terrorists.

I have expressed my concern over long covid symptoms way too many times to count. There is some good news on that front.

Vaccine good, infection bad. Should be obvious, but evidence is nice. Worth noting this is pre-omicron, interpret with care.

Sigh.

I keep bringing up the subject of vaccinating children in my work environment and my private peer group. I haven’t met a single parent who wasn’t at least ambiguous. Most express a hesitancy towards vaccinating their kids.

I try to break it down to “vaccination is always better than a ‘natural’ infection”, but so far, no fruitful discussion ever happened. They don’t want to talk about it, really.
