The identical color of the hair with no variation in it, couple with the identical length of the hairs and symmetrical clumping in the beginning images leads me to believe this is a man-made costume.
I know, unknown terrestrial mammal species don’t come along often, especially large ones–I think the last one was some kind of bovine species in Africa? Still, because the U.S. is so well-explored, it would delight me if we discovered something that had managed to elude everyone all this time. Especially a primate.
