I don’t even think of it as being “free”. Even half of the money spent on the US military in a year could probably be spent on food, shelter, clothing, education, and healthcare for the entire country and still have a lot left over. It’s the priorities of paying through the nose for stuff we don’t need instead of what we obviously do.
Even British Police seem to be getting in on the act, according to this advert from today’s BoingBoing front page, the cops in my home town think I should carry one of these for personal defence…

Might be a corruption of blog, a la xkcd.
I’m partial to the name “Intertron” myself.
That bit of the propaganda was sheer projection. Death panels exist, all right, and they’re run by insurance companies.
The Blagosphere? Like Rod Blagojevich’s sphere of influence?
…and we would still have a larger military budget than our allies AND ‘enemies’ combined.
Why does she need to do anything he says? She didn’t do anything wrong and had every right to deny consent for medical treatment. They have no cause to detain her, and the exact moment when everything goes wrong is when the police officer grabs her when she’s riding her bike down the street.
I like Blogo-Blag.
That must be what they call it in Serbia.
That’s good use of force. sarcasm
Nah, they’d just float because they’re so full of grease.
@falcor - This one’s trying to make a break for it past the 5 day auto-close.
