COVID-19 isolation activities

Painting again - because I enjoy the headspace while doing it and because I need to make something to mark the days off and vaguely keep track. Cake, art, whatever, doesn’t matter, just anything even slightly creative.

Hey, at least it’s not Emma Stone again… :smirk:

I cheat. The supermarket sells their left-over pizza dough, frozen.

When I get bready urges, I move it from the freezer to the fridge, to defrost for the next day.

  • Take the thawed and expanding bag, dump the contents into a floured bowl by turning the bag inside-out.
  • Put the bowl in a ~80F oven for a while to do its thing.
  • Tip the bowl onto a floured surface.
  • Roll the dough out long.
  • Cut it into 12ish pieces, roll the pieces into balls, drop them into a muffin tin.
  • Leave them alone to do more yeasty stuff.
  • Put in a 400F oven for 20 minutes.

Fancy watching ‘Bake Off’ together with mates and alone at the same time? The BBC’s built a tool to do that

That was stellar!

My favorite rhyme might be papyrus with virus, but the whole thing was well done. She could definitely quit her day job.

Summer means fishing my secret spots empty of people, and actually catching fish.

Grilled freshwater drum for dinner tonight, the scales and skin peel off when grilled well, very hard to overcook this way. Meat flaked off and served with rice and soy sauce mixed with lemon juice.

Help your fellow IT pals spruce up their virtual meetings: Design a winning background, win Register -branded gear

Seeing as our readers are a clever and creative bunch, though, we thought we’d invite y’all to produce suitable backdrops to share with your fellow IT colleagues.

The best efforts will be featured on this site, and we’ll pick a winner. If we ever get back to the office, we’ll raid the Register merchandise closet, and send featured artists some branded gear.

The best virtual background I’ve used so far – based on comments from other attendees – has been the wall-o’-TP-rolls. I was even asked by several people if it was real!
