The corporate media, being an element of the zentrum with a financial interest in maintaining the status quo, has been engaging in this disingenuous and bothsidesism for decades. Conservative and Libertarian political advisors and think tanks wrote the playbook for them and continue to provide and support the false equivalencies. Which leads society down dangerous paths.
For example, while I don’t think American conservatives explicitly support these Covidiout morons, I think that thanks to media bothsidesism they’re all too willing to tolerate dozens of them marching through legislature buildings with semi-automatic weapons as a form of legitimate protest. Meanwhile, when the same MSM presents those same conservatives with cherry-picked images of one or two anarkiddie idiots who showboat at an otherwise peaceful antifa demo, they react with fear at these violent left-wing revolutionaries. After 40+ years of this framing, he American mainstream accepts this false narrative.
Now, as we’ve seen throughout from this topic, clumsy talking points and tactics aren’t going to get much traction with people who’ve actually studied history, who are media literate and engaged with current events, who’ve actually been assaulted by fascists, and who have the critical thinking skills to immediately see through logical fallacies. But unfortunately this BBS isn’t representative of America at large.

I don’t think there’s confusion about what you say that your intent is, I don’t think you’re insincere, and assume that you are legitimately frustrated with what you see as hypocrisy, rather than attempting to forward a hidden motive. But your analysis is superficial and distorted in a way that plays into the agenda of corporate interests as @gracchus describes. You’ve used language that is very similar to the “social justice warrior” smear that is leveled at, and intended to cow & silence people supporting needed social change. There’s certainly room for discussion & criticism of motives and tactics and philosophies. Pardon the selective editing below, a lot of what you’ve been claiming parses like right wing radio host nonsense.
The Eco essay I posted above explains why this last quoted statement isn’t correct or coherent.

A lot of the anti-antifa arguments can be dismissed when you see what happens when the fascists don’t turn up. It’s basically a party atmosphere where most people are welcome (Fascists aren’t, for obvious reasons).
When the fascists don’t have any opposition they make sure that everyone knows only Xtian White/Cis/Het people and kapos are welcome. The kapos will be dealt with at a later date.

The word ‘loser’ only has one “O.”

this is the ultimate outcome of asserting false equivalencies between fascism and anti-fascism

repeating oneself is explicitly against the rules but for some reason it’s never enforced

“Loser” and “looser” are absolutely equivalent, for reasons which I will explain thoroughly in my next 12-15 posts.
