False equivalency will get you nowhere with me. Of course there’s racism all over the USA, but to deny its concentration in the heart of Dixie is to deny reality.
I’m from Georgia, and I endorse this statement.
…and you don’t think the concentration of racism in the south has anything to do with the concentration of black persons in the south? Its easy to have fewer black/white racial issues when you have fewer black people, Einstein.
“Say, we don’t have in racial issues up here in North Dakota!”
Oh, sure. I forgot about when the northern carpetbaggers come down and snatched up what was left of the decimated South after the war. They handed everything over to the freed slaves and didn’t keep anything for themselves! Gol’Dang! Yer fancy edumacation sure do come in handy!
No it isn’t. It wasn’t in the C.S.A. Either.

What’s so bad about West Virginia that nobody wants it? Surely it can’t be more unpleasant than Georgia?
Also, just for the LOLs. Paula Deen more popular than MLK amongst Georgia Republicans:
and you don’t think the concentration of racism in the south as anything to do with the concentration of black persons in the south?
Sure it does, but that doesn’t let institutionalized, racist policies you see in the south off the hook. Institutional racism is worse in the south.
Places in the south like South Carolina are (by far) the worst in the nation for hate groups on a per capita basis. Voting problems for blacks are the worst in the south on a per capita basis.
There’s still monuments to slaveholders and other horrific racists in the south, but god forbid you try to put up a monument to slave-revolt leaders in those shitholes.
I lived in the south for many years. If you have as well and are claiming that the south doesn’t have a massive problem with institutionalized (and otherwise) racism disproportionate to the rest of the country (even when you consider the per capita of black to white ratio), then you’re simply delusional.

Educate yourself:
Honest question; not stirring.
I just learnt that West Virginia seceded from Virginia during the Civil War and was part of the Union. Is there some antipathy held by Southerners towards West Virginians because of that?
Once again, the question still stands. Who’s fault is it? Maybe the same white assholes who didn’t bother to ratify the amendment to ban slavery because it “slipped their minds” for 148 years?
Is there some antipathy held by Southerners towards West Virginians because of that?
Ha… probably.
West Virginia never existed as part of the CSA. It never existed until it split from Virginia.
West Virginia never existed as part of the CSA. It never existed until it split from Virginia.
Doesn’t matter.
It’s considered by modern Americans (you may not apply to that category) as part of the south.
Once again, educate yourself:
Stop being delusional, m’kay sugar-pie?
90% of southerners never owned a slave. Many Northerners bought up the remains of the devastated South after the war and continued the repression of the blacks with institutional slavery that lasts until this day. I don’t have any SNL skits to cite but perhaps a PBS documentary will suffice.

You seem to have a hard time grasping the concept. Institutional racism is worse in the South because there are more blacks in the South. Anywhere in the north you have a high black population you see a microcosm of the same issues. (i.e. they are gathered in ghettos, jailed at higher rates and educated with lower standards.)
90% of southerners never owned a slave.
Sorry, goal post moving rarely works on me. You didn’t just mention slavery, you also mentioned “racial repression” in the south.
Once again, the question still stands. Who’s fault is it?
You also tried dodging a serious question (which also rarely works on me).
Was the civil war not really about slavery?
Look, I’ve already destroyed you (here too). It’s cruel to continue to kick around your charred remains. If you want to continue to live in delusional denial, then more white power to you, I suppose. Good day.
No . It’s included when talking about the southeastern US (along with Maryland & Virginia) but not when talking about the South or CSA. ‘Context’ is your new word for the day.

Are you really this dense? Nevermind, don’t answer that.
Learn what per capita and the term disproportionate means, son.
Your desperation is showing. I also feel a tinge of anger overcoming you. Don’t go away mad, just go away.
…but apparently cherry picking and taking things out of context work just fine.
