Someone from Little Burgundy in Montreal, which was something of a breeding ground for jazz pianists: Oscar, Oliver Jones, and several others I’m unfamiliar with. It was Daisy Peterson Sweeney’s turf as a piano teacher. (She’s still alive at age 96.)
The transcription helps underline how slippery a sense of rhythm he had. Great stuff.
