I don’t know about that… we’ve been courting the Kurds for a while now and I doubt we want to completely alienate them. We won’t support their national aspirations, though, in part because that would piss of the Turks. We’re trying to have our cake and eat it too… We want their backing, but we don’t want them to have a state, because that would piss off our other allies. The best they’ll get with our full backing will be an autonomous zone in Iraq (which they largely already have, legally speaking). I doubt we’d go as far as call them a terrorist group. I could be wrong, though!

I suppose we’ll see what direction everything goes after this new tactic of sending Turkey into Syria… I suspect that the major reason we call the PKK terrorists is our relationship with Turkey.
