Cool, except that, to a New Zealander, “kiwi” refers to the flightless bird. Kiwifruit is grown in China.
Maybe when Japan’s PM visits New Zealand, they’ll greet him with dancing cans of black varnish.

Yeah, although the Chinese gooseberry got labeled the “kiwi fruit” as a marketing strategy after being grown in, and exported by, New Zealand, it’s only outside New Zealand/Australia that “kiwi” can refer to the fruit.

A friend of mine was part of the UN peace forces in Kosovo. One time they visited the Japanese contingent on an invitation and were greeted by a guy in a theme park style octopus costume.
