The cops just phoned it in, costing a man 24 years of his life (and one million dollars to the state*). There’s got to be a way to make this kind of job performance hit the perpetrators financially, too:
*If the WI legislature approves, and that payment would be in addition to what was already spent on the wrongful incarceration.

I don’t know which is crazier: that LA Sheriff’s Department Deputies have an official “gang tattoo” or that they shot one of their own coworkers in the ankle for making an “unauthorized change” to his. (The shooter’s subsequent promotion is just par for the course).
Hitting cops in the wallet for their misdeeds, too:
“In other news, 51% of Black respondents say the police can never be reformed”
So they’re not only bad at their job, but they also use money that could be spent on doing a better job for PR to convince the public that they’re doing a great job. Also, they always want more money and equipment because that’s the usual excuse given for why they can’t do their job. This seems like it would also fit into the Grifters category or a news show promo:
