Short of Biden becoming unfit for office I just don’t see this happening. He has a record to be proud of, Democrats just suck at telling people about it and the media is so busy having their tails wagged by Trump that they don’t bother reporting on it. Any serious contender right now on the D side will only guarantee an R wins in 2024.

Yeah, Newsom’s likely keeping his power dry. I doubt he has any interest at all in challenging Biden for anything. I’d be glad for insurance plans against Biden suddenly dying in office. He’s older and it’s definitely a non-zero risk.
